Inflammation of the respiratory system

Inflammation of the respiratory system

The inflammatory conditions of the upper respiratory system are some of the most common and debilitating pathologies in the population and they are exacerbated by pollution and smoking. Acute inflammations can be easily treated and cured with medical therapies. Chronic pathologies can be successfully treated with thermal spring water inhalations such as those offered in Comano.

Chronic sinusitis
It is treated with warm-humid inhalations and micronized nasal showers.  The therapeutic effect of the thermal spring water is beneficial to relieve the nasal obstruction, strengthen the immune system functions, reduce the nasal mucous secretion, and provide a cleansing action (also in the paranasal cavities, thanks to the use of micronized showers). The severity of the symptoms (heaviness in breathing, respiratory obstruction, nasal secretion, and nasal discharge) is reduced and the remission phases last longer.

Allergic rhinitis
Allergic rhinitis is an allergic inflammation of the nose and paranasal cavities. The thermal spring water of Comano has a therapeutic action on the allergic inflammation of the mucous membranes. Allergic rhinitis (seasonal or perennial) is successfully treated by the soothing effect of the thermal spring water on the reactivity of mucous membranes, which causes sneezing, itching of the nose, and watery secretions. Warm-humid inhalations are recommended to and well tolerated by adult and child patients alike.

Vasomotor rhinitis
It is a disorder that causes severe sneezing, nasal mucus secretion, and intermittent nasal obstruction. Thanks to the unique composition of the thermal spring water of Comano, warm-humid inhalations with this water allow to reduce the high reactivity of the mucus membranes in patients affected by vasomotor rhinitis, normalize the nasal mucus secretion, and reduce the respiratory obstruction and the severity of sneezing. This provides substantial health benefits to the patients.

Pharyngitis, laryngitis and rhino-bronchial syndrome
The thermal spring water of Comano has an anti-inflammatory effect on the mucus membranes of the throat and the bronchi. At the end of the therapy, the mucus secretion is reduced, the immune system is strengthened, the respiratory tract is clean and works better, and the symptoms of the chronic inflammation are alleviated (dryness in the throat, coughing). Warm-humid inhalations and aerosol treatments are recommended.
